Building an arts nonprofit as an exec director
As Co-Founder and Executive Director of Social Convention in London, I built the organisation from nothing, making a lot with a little: incorporating, assembling a diverse international board of directors, raising over £500K in grant and capital funding, opening a 300-capacity venue in one of the city’s most diverse and underserved communities, and growing a production company reaching 150,000 audiences and supporting over 200 artists to create new work over 4 years.

This Spotlight illuminated the Future of Live Performance using the Royal Shakespeare Company’s consortium’s groundbreaking DREAM project as a starting point through a 3D virtual gallery featuring four connected rooms, each showcasing a different element of exploration, including 4 fireside chats with thought leaders in art x tech and 10 digital microcommission responses from a cohort of international multidisciplinary artists.

OF LIVE PERFORMANCE

An interactive, digitally hybrid monthly microfestival including performances of new performance works, artist and maker interviews, participatory creative audience activities, and a dance party with live DJs. Produced live between Los Angeles, Washington DC, and London.
ARTPARTY was featured as a leading example in dynamism by Arts Council England.
